The Islands of Tahiti Honored on Travel + Leisure’s “World’s Best List”

LOS ANGELES – Where are the best islands in the world? Bora Bora, Moorea and Huahine in the Islands of Tahiti nabbed three of the five spots in Travel + Leisure’s “World’s Best Awards” – the magazine’s prestigious annual readers’ survey. The islands were honored in the Australia, New Zealand and the South Pacific region category.
The Travel + Leisure 2012 World’s Best Awards readers’ survey, reveals readers’ favorite hotels, cities, islands, cruise lines, airlines, car-rental agencies, spas, safari outfitters, and tour operators and are now listed on www.TravelandLeisure.com, and will be featured in the August digital editions on iPad®, NOOK Color™, and Kindle Fire™, and is the cover story of the August issue of the magazine, on newsstands July 20.
Additionally, Tahiti Tourism’s partners were recognized, including Four Seasons Resort Bora Bora at number 42 in the Top 50 World’s Best Hotels category, and number four in the Top Lodges and Resorts in Australia, New Zealand, and the South Pacific category. Also placing in the Top Lodges and Resorts in Australia, New Zealand, and the South Pacific category is St. Regis Resort Bora Bora at number six and the Hilton Bora Bora Nui Resort & Spa at number eight and the Hilton Moorea Lagoon Resort and Spa at number nine. Paul Gauguin Cruises, operator of the highest-rated and longest continually sailing luxury cruise ship in the South Pacific, the m/s Paul Gauguin, received second place for small-ship cruise lines in the survey.
